Biography of Patrick Bermand
Born in the magnificent Pyrenees region of France, Patrick Bermand moved to Quebec in 1978. He studied at the École hôtelière de Mazamet and began his professional training at the Château d'Artigny and at Charles Barrier’s Michelin 3-star restaurant in Tours. He perfected his skills at Umberto’s in Vancouver and Thursdays in Montreal. This experience led him to Mont Tremblant, where as associate and co-owner he played a major role in the success of the Le Shack and Auberge Sauvignon restaurants.
In 2003, he and his partner Maude discovered the maison du Bonheur and converted it into a restaurant. Backed by a wealth of experience, he shares his passion for the joy that great cooking can bring. At Patrick Bermand’s restaurant, freshness means happiness and quality stands for simplicity.
